Here's our solution when our client asked for

Here’s our solution when our client asked for a 24″ overhang for their Silestone countertop. We recessed a 3/8″ steel plate flush with the top of the island cabinets and hid angle iron and plate legs on the outside of the sink cabinet. The legs are bolted to the floor joists so the whole thing can’t tip over. The plate will be 12″ back from the edge, so it will be barely visable once the counter is set on top.
