This architect’s personal two-story penthouse was comprehensively remodeled to accommodate aging in place within the context of compact urban living. A gently curved staircase, refined built-ins and cabinetry, and subtle references to the original structure, including the wrapped steel columns, enrich the architectural narrative and support spatial definition.
